Metal acoustical ceiling tiles from Dakota Tin give your ceilings a vintage, rustic, or industrial touch — while improving sound quality and reducing noise. Our perforated tiles are corrugated steel backed with an Owens Corning® SelectSound™ Black Acoustic Blanket to absorb sound reverberation.
Tested and rated for a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.8 — meaning the acoustical backer absorbs 80% of noise. That's significantly higher than common fiber ceiling tiles, which typically rate around 0.55.
Available in Rusted (spray-applied natural rust patina) or Antique Galvanized (dark grey, weathered, no rust). They work in theater rooms, sound studios, performing arts centers, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and offices — anywhere noise reduction matters.

Want to add linseed sealant to your ceiling tiles? Linseed sealant is a boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits solution we apply in-house before shipping. It creates a thin shellac-like coat that slows further rusting, helps prevent rust rub-off, and adds a touch of shine.
Just choose Yes under "Linseed Sealant Applied" when adding to cart. Available on both Rusted and Antique acoustical tiles.
Don't need acoustical performance? Our standard Colorado Rustic Steel Ceiling Tiles offer the same finishes without the perforated backing — at a lower price point.

Acoustical Patina Options
-
Rusted: Pre-rusted using an all-natural, accelerated rust treatment. Because the solution is spray-applied, the result is a more even coat of copper rust color, with small variations of blues and greys you'd get from antique galvanized.
- We start the rusting process, but if you'd still like more rust, learn how to increase the amount of rust here.
- We recommend sealing this style with a clear coat, as the rust finish can rub off. Here is how to clear coat Rusted products.
-
Antique Galvanized: Antiqued steel, dark grey, weathered, flat texture. NO RUST or color variation.
- Finish wears with time (can produce white rust with exposure to moisture), will continue to age with exposure, and may scratch.
- We recommend sealing this style with a clear coat for high-wear areas or where oils can get splattered, since it has a more porous surface.
